"Tacos, Tortes, and Flautas...oh my!"

Keyboard still jacked, so excuse me.

Last night Jen and I attended a bullfight in Mexico City. Let me mention that the driving in Mexico City is PURE maddness! The lanes are so small and the cars don't care if they cut one another off or use their blinkers, or hog 3 lanes at once. Anyway, we were on our way to the fight and our driver was scaring the hell out of us, so Jen asked if she could drive instead. Apparently the driver was hungover from a night of vodka and the discoteca, so he gladly pulled over and Jen took the wheel. I had no seatbelt in the back, the taxi driver was on the phone and Jen was attempting to drive in Mexico to the arena. She got us there safe and sound. The bullfight consisted of 3 matadors and 6 bulls. It was gruesome, torturous, and bloody. But Jen enjoyed some bull muscle smoothered in hot sauce and lime. It was a once in a lifetime experience, and what I mean is....something I will never do again. Poor bulls, I just couldn't get past it. Plus we didn't know when to yell ?E!, but it was still a great time for $8.

This morning, we headed to Teotihacan. It is the largest Aztec ruin in Mexico. We saw the Pyramid of the Sun and the Moon, got some great souveniers, and took some fabulous pictures...which I will post in the next few days. We caught the Metro and a bus all by our English selfs...aren't you proud? We were! We returned to the city to find a full action market outside our hostal door. We grabbed some pollo tacos at the taco stand (don't worry granny, I'll be fine).

It's been cold here, especially at night. It didn't help that our window was stuck open and we could hear all the madness on the street below...but nothing my earplugs couldn't block out.

Tomorrow we are heading to Oaxaca. 6.5 hours on the bus, but it's 82 degrees there and we can sleep in a hammock on the beach for $2/night, eat fresh fish and meet lots of backpackers. Jen and I will look into getting PADI open water scuba certified on the coast. Afterwards we plan to head to San Cristobal, Palenque, Merida, and Playa de Carmen and onto Belize for more diving.

We are safe, sound, and having a blast! We've overspent our budget so a few days on the beach won't hurt at all. And it's been cold and rainy in the city....the sun sounds delightful about now.

Will update when we can. Hope everyone at home is doing well and we LOVE you all.
